FAQ’S

Does acupuncture hurt?
Most people are surprised by how little they feel when they get their first acupuncture treatment. The most common comment I get after I put in the first needle is, “Did you put in a needle already?” You may feel a small pinch as the needle goes through the skin, but after that most people just feel a dull achy sensation or nothing at all. There are a small percentage of people who are very sensitive to needles, if during your first treatment you decide you cannot handle the needles I will pull them out and you can leave with no charge.

Do I have to get acupuncture to come see Chad?
NO. Chad can use massage, acupuncture, exercise, and other chinese medical techniques to help patients recover from injuries and prepare for sporting events.

How many treatments will I need
My goal is to help my patients is 6 treatments or less! Most people notice some change after the first treatment but we are limited by the speed that the human body can heal. Some chronic injuries take longer to help, but fast results are expected when treating musculo-skeletal injuries. A typical course of treatment is 1-2 treatments a week for 3 or 4 weeks.

Do you treat conditions other then sports injuries and pain.
I have specialized in injuries and pain and that is what I am skilled at helping. I will occasionally treat for something else if they come in with an injury and we discover they also have something else that acupuncture can help with. I will usually suggest another acupuncturist who is skilled in internal medicine and chinese herbs for patients requiring help with other issues.
